The project is to construct a new public amenity structure at Miller Close Pt Samson.  A funding partnership for the project has been signed by the City of Karratha and Rio Tinto.

Project Overview

The Pt Samson foreshore management plan has been prepared to provide guidance for the management of human use impacts on the Pt Samson foreshore reserve in the City of Karratha. The Pt Samson foreshore area covered by this Plan is currently reserved for recreation and is mostly managed by the City of Karratha.  The Pt Samson foreshore management plan describes the environmental, cultural, recreational and resource values associated with the site, many of which are under threat from human activities on the coast. The Plan makes recommendations regarding the future management of impacts in order to maintain or enhance the identified values for the long term.

 

Latest News

  • The contract for this project has been awarded to a local contractor, Timik Developments Pty Ltd.
  • First stage of works include the installation of concrete footings to support the public amenity structure and shade structure.  Footings will be completed week ending 27 May 2016. 
  • Next trench of works will be delivery of steel to site and the erection of the steel substructure, which is due to commence early June 2016.
