At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 24 November 2025, Council resolved to adopt Local Planning Policy DP26 – Requirements for Local Planning Scheme Amendments, pursuant to Clause 4 of the Deemed Provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
The purpose of the DP26 is to provide clear guidance on the information required for Standard and Complex Scheme Amendments, establish circumstances where preliminary (non-statutory) community consultation may be appropriate, and enhance transparency and early stakeholder engagement. The policy seeks to ensure alignment with the City’s strategic planning frameworks while giving proponents greater clarity on the process and opportunities to resolve issues before the formal Scheme Amendment process commences.
