Local Planning Schemes

Local planning schemes set out objectives for the way land is to be used and developed, classify areas for land use and include provisions to coordinate infrastructure and development within the local government area.

The Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations (2015) contain a set of deemed provisions that form part of every local planning scheme in the State. Schedule 2 of these Regulations contain the deemed provisions and should be read alongside Local Planning Scheme No.8 when considering land use and development in the City of Karratha.

Download the state government flowchart and the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations (2015) for more information on each of these scheme amendment types and associated processes.
