Sensory-Friendly Events
Sensory Movie Screenings
Sensory Friendly screenings are tailored to meet the needs of families living with autism and other sensory needs. These screenings provide a safe and accepting cinema environment, with dimmed lighting and softened sound levels.

FeNaClNG Festival - Inclusion Sessions
Inclusion sessions for FeNaClNG Festival are held the day before the main festival weekend, offering a sensory-friendly environment for families to enjoy the rides and attractions.

All-terrain Wheelchair
Hire an All-terrain Wheelchair
Explore our diverse National Parks and beaches with the City’s free all-terrain wheelchair hire.
To hire the all-terrain wheelchair and Mobi Mat, please download and complete the application form. The wheelchair is located at Karratha Leisureplex.
Bookings can be made via email leisureplex@karratha.wa.gov.au or over the phone 08 9186 8556.

Accessible Facilities
National Public Toilet Map
The National Public Toilet Map shows the location of public and private facilities across Australia, including toilets, adult change and baby care. Information is provided about each toilet, such as location, accessibility details, opening hours and features like sharps disposal and showers.
Communication Boards
Communication boards have been installed across the following parks to enhance inclusivity and accessibility for individuals with communication challenges.

- Dampier Foreshore
- Kevin Richards Memorial Park
- Miles Loop Park
- Smith-Delambre Park
These boards provide a visual tool using symbols, images, and simple words to support both understanding and expression, helping young people to fully participate in outdoor play and social interactions.
City of Karratha Accessible Facilities Overview
The Accessible Facilities Matrix provides a clear overview of disability-friendly amenities across venues in the City of Karratha. This document highlights details such as wheelchair access, accessible toilets, ACROD parking availability, wheelchair friendly paths, lifts where applicable, and parent/baby change facilities.
