The City of Karratha is investing almost $16 million in renewing and upgrading community facilities and infrastructure across the region as part of the 2026/27 Annual Budget.
From airports and sporting facilities to parks, roads and public spaces, this investment will ensure our community continues to enjoy safe, reliable and high-quality infrastructure for years to come.
Key renewal projects
Airport Infrastructure:
- Airfield cable and lighting upgrades – $2 million
- Runway Extension RESA works – $2.1 million
- Fire main renewal – $1.3 million
Community and Sporting Facilities:
- Wickham Recreation Facility Bistro renewal – $500,000
- Karratha Leisureplex indoor court resurfacing – $300,000
- Roebourne Oval lighting renewal – $150,000
Parks and Public Spaces:
- Windy Ridge Playground renewal – $300,000
- Malster Way Playground renewal – $240,000
- Hillview Playground renewal – $200,000
Roads and Streetscapes:
- Road reseal program – $1.58 million
- Major footpath renewals – $1.13 million
- Kerb renewal program – $915,000
