City rolls out vibrant Youth Week program

Youth Week WA is the State’s largest annual celebration of young people, and this year will run from 10 to 16 April with the theme Strength in Our Stories.

The City’s program will offer a diverse range of experiences for young people aged 10 to 25, creating safe and inclusive spaces to connect, learn and have fun.

Program highlights include a high-energy Neon Rave Party at the Red Earth Arts Precinct featuring the return of Zero Emcee, following his popular 2025 appearance. Joining him this year is Razzy Mak, with both artists performing at the event. In addition, Zero Emcee and Razzy Mak will lead Rap Workshops at the Youth Shed and The Base, providing young people with an opportunity to develop their skills and engage directly with the artists.

Roebourne Courts will also come alive for Glow in the Dark Basketball, proudly sponsored by Yurra. The 3-on-3 tournament will combine neon lights, music and fast-paced competition, with prizes up for grabs.
Additional activities across the week include sneaker and basketball design workshops, a Paint & Dip session, skate competitions and more.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said Youth Week was an important opportunity to recognise the voices, talents and contributions of young people across the region. “Youth Week is about celebrating who our young people are and the stories they carry,” Mayor Scott said. “This year’s theme, ‘Strength in Our Stories’, reminds us that every young person in Karratha has something valuable to share whether that’s through music, sport, art or simply showing up as themselves.”

Mayor Scott said the City was committed to creating opportunities for young people to connect and thrive.
“We’re proud to deliver a program that is free, inclusive and shaped around the interests of our young community,” he said.
“Our young people are leaders, creators and changemakers. Youth Week is our chance to celebrate their energy and ensure they feel seen, heard and supported here in Karratha.”

Presented by the City of Karratha, The Youth Shed and The Base, sponsored by Yurra and Domino's.
