Use the checklist below to confirm your information is current:
Update your address details:
If you’ve changed your address in the last 12 months, make sure to update your contact details with the City to ensure your rates notice is sent to the correct address.
You can update your details online by:
- Completing the digital form: https://karratha.wa.gov.au/council/rates-fees-and-charges/update-contac…, or
- Emailing your old and new address to: enquiries@karratha.wa.gov.au
Register for eRates:
Register once and all future rates will be delivered to your email. To register, access the online portal: https://erateswa.com/karratha
This paperless option is better for the environment and conveniently sends your future rates directly to your inbox. Have your assessment number ready, find this on the top right-hand corner of your previous rates notice.
To be eligible for the annual rate incentive scheme, which offers ratepayers the chance to win one of three cash prizes, you MUST be registered for eRates.
Apply for pensioner and senior rate rebates:
If you own and occupy your home as of 1 July each year and hold a valid Pensioner Concession Card, WA Seniors Card (WASC), or a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC) AND a WASC, you may be eligible for a partial or even full concession. Concessions include:
Local government rates
- 100% rebate (Pensioner Concession Card)
- 50% rebate (WASC + CSHC, capped at $750)
- 25% rebate (WASC, capped at $100)
Emergency Services Levy (ESL)
- 100% rebate (Pensioner Concession Card)
- 50% rebate (WASC + CSHC)
- 25% rebate (WASC)
