Bunnings a step closer as construction begins in Karratha

A major milestone in local retail development has been reached with sod turned on the long-awaited Bunnings development at Gap Ridge.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott and the CEO Virginia Miltrup joined project partners on site to celebrate the start of works.

The development forms part of the broader Gap Ridge Homemaker Centre, a major retail precinct that will include a 7,600sqm Bunnings Warehouse alongside a range of large-format retailers.

With site works now underway, the project is expected to be completed in 2027, delivering a significant boost to local retail choice, job creation and economic activity.

The Homemaker Centre will be the first of its kind in the Pilbara and is expected to attract additional major retailers, further strengthening Karratha’s position as a regional hub.

Once complete, the centre will deliver a new, modern retail destination designed to meet the needs of the growing City of Karratha community.
