The City of Karratha is inviting community members to come together for Christmas on the Green at the Red Earth Arts Precinct.
Christmas on the Green marks the start of the City’s festive season and will feature children’s activities, arts and crafts, games, face painting, live school performances, roving entertainment, a 360-degree photobooth, balloon dome, and the KDCCI Christmas Markets.
At 7.30pm on 28 November, Santa will officially launch the Sharpe Avenue Light Walk before leading a community procession to The Quarter, where music and celebrations will continue into the evening.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said Christmas on the Green had become a much-loved event on the local calendar.
“Christmas on the Green is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the start of the festive season,” Mayor Scott said.
“I look forward to everyone coming down, it’s always a highlight to see families laughing, celebrating and kicking off the festive season together.”
Alongside Christmas on the Green, the City’s festive program includes the Christmas Exhibition at the Red Earth Arts Precinct, the Sharpe Avenue Light Walk, and families can also enjoy our free Christmas Movie Night at The Quarter.
Mayor Scott said the wider Christmas program offered something for all ages.
“We’re really pleased to present a full program of festive activities across the City,” he said.
“The Christmas Exhibition at the Red Earth Arts Precinct showcases the creativity of our local schools and seniors, while the Sharpe Avenue Light Walk brings a brilliant atmosphere to our City centre every night in December.”
“I encourage everyone to come along, explore the events and enjoy the festive spirit.”
Christmas on the Green is supported by Rio Tinto and Santos.
