The first 10 townhouses at a new housing development in Baynton have been installed.
The project at Lot 481 Bajamalu Drive is part of the City’s Project Dorothy initiative, and will see 17 townhouses and 20 apartments installed at the site.
On site construction began in October and the first townhouses delivered last month with the initial row now installed.
Works will continue with the remaining townhouses and apartments to be delivered over the coming months and the project expected to be completed around the end of the year.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said it was exciting to see the Baynton Development progressing quickly.
“Our Baynton project is currently about 40 percent completed and progressing well,” Mayor Scott said.
“Housing remains the top concern of our community, and projects like this are vital to increasing availability of properties in Karratha.
“We will continue to do what we can to address this shortage through working with developers, as we have with this development, and advocating to State and Federal Government to increase housing supply in our region.”
