The Cossack Art Awards Education Program is back, giving Karratha students the chance to discover art, culture and the stories of Cossack through fun, hands-on workshops.
The Education Program is supported by Woodside Energy Ltd and its joint venture participants. The Program runs from Monday 27 July to Friday 7 August 2026 at Galbraith Store, Cossack, and is open to all schools and students from Year 1 through to high school.
The workshops will be delivered by experienced facilitators and mother daughter duo Leanne and Briony Bray.
Leanne, a multidisciplined artist from the Perth Hills, brings extensive experience delivering engaging workshops alongside her busy public art practice, with projects at the Karratha Health Campus, Wickham Primary School and Karratha Leisureplex.
Meanwhile Briony, an arts manager based in Geraldton, is passionate about providing regional students with access to high-quality arts programs and cultural experiences.
Together they bring creativity, fun and a deep commitment to connecting young people with art and culture.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said the program is a fantastic way for young people to connect with art and local culture.
“The Cossack Art Awards Education Program gives students a valuable opportunity to engage with art in a fun, interactive way,” Mayor Scott said.
“It’s fantastic to see facilitators like Leanne and Briony Bray bring their energy, creativity and expertise to the program, helping students create their own artworks and discover the stories behind Cossack and the Awards.”
