Quarter activation to spread Christmas Cheer

The Quarter will be transformed over December with a series of activations to spread the Christmas cheer.

Throughout December, we will be activating the space at The Quarter with Christmas at The Quarter, sponsored by Rio Tinto.

From free yoga and bootcamp Saturdays, to live music as well as food pop-ups there will be something festive for everyone.

Every Sunday there will be acoustic sets with Niall Ridgeway kicking things off on December 3, Sunbrae Groove on December 17, while George Kelly will perform on December 10 and December 24.

The Quarter will be home to free yoga session from the Little Yoga Studio on December 2 and 16, and Fit Squad will be hosting a bootcamp on December 9.

Complementing the Karratha City Eats Christmas Markets at the Pelago buildings, we'll have space set up at The Quarter to kick back with live music by Sunbrae Grove and DJ Mango Cha Cha on Friday December 8 from 6pm to 10pm.

There will also be a free family-friendly outdoor screening of The Grinch (2018), with free dutch pancakes and ice creams for the first 50 children, held alongside a clay and wooden ornament workshop on the lawn from 6pm to 8pm on Friday 15 December.

The food pop ups will see Mema’s Berry & Bean will be serving Dutch pancakes and ice creams from 1pm to 5pm until 24 December and Happy Nachos will be dishing out the goods from 9am to 5pm daily until Christmas Eve, with special late night Fridays on 1 December, 8 December, and 15 December.

City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said there was something for everyone during the festive season.

“This is a fantastic initiative to activate The Quarter and bring our community together during Christmas,” Cr Scott said.

“I encourage residents to come down to any of the events, have a good time and embrace the festive season together.”
