The Yaburara Heritage Trail is a unique and rare opportunity to showcase the Pilbara's vast array of cultural heritage values. It is utilised as both a major recreational site and a sustainable cultural tourism and educational facility. The trail is an important place for the community to reflect, walk, socialise and exercise. The trail provides wonderful vistas and an opportunity to explore the unique history, geology, geography, archaeology, ecology and culture of the region.
This is a Grade 4 Trail – bushwalking experience recommended; tracks may be long, rough and very steep; directional signage may be limited.
Stay Safe and Enjoy the Walk
- Plan your walk according to the route you choose. Trail lengths range from 500m to 13km, so please allow 1 to 3 hours for your walk.
- Stay Hydrated – carry 1-2L water
- SunSmart Protection – take precautions against sunburn and heat stress
- Stick to marked routes and be wildlife aware.
Respect the Trail – Take photos, leave only footprints; Dispose of waste responsibly; Respect the land, culture and heritage of the Ngarluma people, the Traditional Owners of the land. Under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, it is an offence to damage or alter any Aboriginal site or remove any object from a site. Significant fines and penalties apply.
